CDAC is awarded Leadership in Accessibility Award

Barbara Collier, Executive Director of Communication Disabilities Access Canada (CDAC), recently received the David C. Onley Leadership in Accessibility Award. This is an annual award given to individuals or organizations for their work in promoting accessibility for people with disabilities. CDAC was one of eight organizations to receive this award this year.

CDAC is just wrapping up a Connecting Communities project that is providing training to workers and trusted intermediaries on the legal rights of people with speech and language disabilities. This is a unique Connecting Project as the target group (people with communication disabilities) is an extremely under-resourced group. To our knowledge, this project is the first of its kind in Ontario.
