PLE Review: Reflections and Recommendations in Public Legal Education Delivery in BC

This report reviews how the Legal Services Society (LSS) currently provides PLEI services and provides recommendations on how to improve PLEI services for citizens of British Columbia. The report first emphasizes the need for collaboration among PLEI agencies and best practices in the design of PLEI materials within target communities. Recommendations include the provision of BC-specific PLEI materials, self-help materials for people with low incomes, the need for increased web accessibility in PLEI delivery, greater community and government support for PLEI agencies, the need to communicate with counsel to obtain input on PLEI curriculum and the importance of conducting periodical needs assessment among low-income populations to determine what PLEI needs specific demographics have and why.
