Legal health checks

Legal health checks or legal health checklists are tools intended to help people identify and address legal problems. Legal health check tools have three main purposes:

  • to help people become aware that a problem has a legal aspect
  • to encourage people with legal problems to get help from a legal professional, their local legal clinic, or trusted members of their community
  • to help community workers, other community intermediaries, lawyers or other legal professionals start conversations with clients about the law
